Job Title: Production Specialist
Job Summary:
Supports
map production operations through use of photogrammetry and mapping
software systems in a fast-paced commercial mapping environment,
relying on strong analytical skills and understanding of computers,
math, geometry and imagery to generate quality products.
Duties:
- Responsible for portion of production workflow, working as an integral part of a small team
- Follows standard procedures to ensure generation of intermediate or final work products which meet quality specifications
- Communicates closely and effectively with team partners and with supervisor
- Sets up batch jobs, monitoring progress and analyzing results as appropriate
- Performs quality checks on various geospatial work products which include digital imagery, elevation data
- Manipulates and processes digital elevation data, including LiDAR data
- Contributes
to various stages of the production workflow, which may include flight
planning, aerial triangulation, processing of GPS data, image
processing, and assembly of data for client delivery
- Applies
analytical skills to aid in the production workflow, trouble-shooting
where appropriate and providing feedback and suggestions for innovation
and improvements in procedures
- Exercise problem-solving skills within assigned responsibilities and duties
- Perform other duties or special assignments as instructed by supervisor
Qualifications: - Good computer skills
- Strong analytical and math skills, coupled with strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills, team player
- Ablility to multitask and work in a fast paced production environment
- Ability and passion to learn new software tools
- Working
knowledge of some of the following or similar software a plus: Erdas
Imagine, LPS, AutoCad, Microstation, SocetSet, Terrasolid software,
ESRI etc.
- BA in geography, geomatics, engineering, math or related field desired
- Basic programming or scripting skills a plus
