City of Oakland, CA (2003)
HJW was selected to generate orthophotos and a digital terrain model for the entire city of Oakland. HJW acquired color photography at a photo scale of 1:6000 (1”=500’). The photography was captured using our Cessna 206 aircraft, which is equipped with a GPS/IMU direct orientation and positioning system. The film was scanned at a resolution of 12.5 microns (2032 dpi) for the production of color orthophotos with 0.25’ pixel size. Orthophotos met the accuracy specifications of 1”= 40’ mapping. Contours were compiled with 2’ intervals in the designated lowlands, and 5’ intervals in the highlands.
