City of San Jose, CA South Bay Marsh Mapping
The City of San Jose contracted with HJW GeoSpatial to generate
one foot contours for and environmental study area in the South
Bay Marsh that was very difficult to access for ground control.
Because the project was primarily expanses of water separated
by levees, it was not practical to fly photography at a scale
that would permit the compilation of 1’ contours. The areas
of standing water would make it impossible to bridge the photography
or even to locate adequate control. The solution was to acquire
LiDAR data and generate contours from it. Working with Airborne1,
HJW collected LiDAR data at one meter postings and created a 1’
contour dataset for the City. HJW also flew aerial photography
and produced CIR orthophotos at a scale of 1”= 200’.
HJW services included:
• LiDAR collection
• Aerial photography
• Aerial triangulation
• Color infrared orthophotography generation. |
