HJW
IS AWARDED CITY OF VISALIA, CA ORTHOPHOTO PROJECT
Oakland,
California, June 21, 2005 – HJW GeoSpatial (HJW),
Inc., has been awarded a contract to produce color orthophotos
for the City of Visalia, CA. The orthophotography will be used
to replace the 2003 orthophotos used with the City’s GIS
system.
HJW will
acquire 109 square miles of color photography at a photo scale
of 1:9996 (1”= 833’). The photography will be used
to support update of the digital terrain model which is used
for orthophoto production. HJW will scan the film at a resolution
of 14 microns (1814 dpi), which will allow for production of
orthophotos with 0.5’ pixel size. The orthophotos will
then be manually seamed together and delivered in a section-based
tiling system.
Prior to
this project, HJW had supplied the City with the prior orthophotography
in 2003, meeting the same requirements as the current project.
In 1993, HJW was awarded a contract with the City of Visalia
to provide planimetric and topographic mapping of the city at
a map scale of 1”=100’. This data served as the
base map for the City’s GIS. |
