HJW
GEOSPATIAL QUALIFIES AS A SMALL BUSINESS FOR FEDERAL CONTRACTING
Oakland,
California, June 15, 2005 – HJW GeoSpatial (HJW),
Inc. qualifies as a small business in the federal contracting
arena as a result of organizational restructuring. HJW was determined
to be a small business based on size standards established by
the Small Business Administration.
The Small
Business Act 15(g)(1) states that it is the policy of the United
States, that each agency shall have an annual goal that represents,
for that agency, the maximum practicable opportunity for small
business concerns to participate in the performance of contracts
let by that agency.
As a result,
HJW is able to pursue federal solicitations with more impact,
as Federal Acquisition Regulations require federal contractors
to meet quotas on small business contracting. By law, federal
agencies are required to award 23% of prime contracts to small
businesses. Similar requirements are in place for subcontracting
arrangements, making HJW GeoSpatial an important teaming member
for federal solicitations.
HJW has
a history of contracting with federal agencies, including the
National Forest Service, the Department of Agriculture, USGS,
the Bureau of Land Management, Army Corps of Engineers, NIMA
and the Bureau of Reclamation.
