AWARDED CONTRACT BY THE U.S. BUREAU OF RECLAMATION TO MAP LAUER
DAM
Oakland,
California, August 22, 2005 – HJW GeoSpatial (HJW),
Inc. has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
(Mid-Pacific Region) to produce topographic mapping of areas
surrounding the Lauer Dam in Modoc County, CA. The mapping will
be used to support the Bureau’s design of an access road
to the dam, and will require topographic mapping of the existing
road alignment, the Lauer Dam and reservoir.
HJW will compile topographic mapping from 1:3600 (1”=
300’) and 1:7200 (1”= 600’) scale photography,
for the generation of 1’ and 2’ contours. The mapping
data will be collected and prepared according to specific guidelines
set by the Bureau of Reclamation.
HJW has
continually provided mapping services to the USBR since 2002.
The mission
of the Bureau of Reclamation is to manage, develop, and protect
water and related resources in an environmentally and economically
sound manner in the interest of the American public.
