AWARDED ORTHOPHOTO CONTRACT FROM NAPA COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL AND
WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT
Oakland,
California, August 25, 2005 – HJW GeoSpatial (HJW),
Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide color orthophotos
of five sites along the Napa River for the Napa County Flood
Control and Water Conservation District. The sites are part
of the District’s Napa River/Napa Creek Flood Protection
Project.
HJW will
acquire color photography at a scale of 1:4800 (1”= 400’).
The photography will be scanned at a resolution of 25 microns
(1016 dpi) for the production of 1”= 100’ scale
orthophotos having a pixel size of 0.5’. To support orthophoto
production, HJW will generate a stereo-compiled digital terrain
model.
HJW has
been awarded similar contracts by the District for consecutive
years, dating back to 2002.
The Napa
County Flood Control and Water Conservation District’s
mission is the conservation and management of flood and storm
waters to protect life and property; the maintenance of the
County watershed using the highest level of environmentally
sound practices; and to provide coordinated planning for water
supply needs of the community.
