SAN
FRANCISCO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION AWARDS HJW CONTRACT FOR
PIPELINE MAPPING
Oakland,
California, September 16, 2005 – The San Francisco
Public Utilities Commission has awarded a contract to HJW GeoSpatial
to produce orthophotography for a major pipeline project. The
project area is a 35-mile stretch of pipeline that spans from
San Mateo County, through Santa Clara County, and into Alameda
County.
Color photography
will be acquired at a scale of 1:8,400 (1”= 700’),
utilizing airborne GPS/IMU. The film will be scanned at a resolution
of nine microns (2822 dpi), facilitating the production of orthophotos
with a pixel size of three inches. After aerial triangulation,
HJW will stereo-compile updates to an existing DTM to ensure
that orthophotos will meet national map accuracy standards for
1”= 100’ scale mapping. Once generated, the orthophotos
will be seamlessly mosaicked and clipped into a pre-defined
tiling scheme. HJW will also provide control and aerial triangulation
reports to supplement the deliverables.
